myFICO

FICO scores are a type of credit score calculated by using FICO's scoring model. They're offered by a company called the Fair Isaac Corporation on the website myFICO.com. Two FICO scores are available for consumers. There's a FICO credit score based on a consumer's Equifax information. There's also a FICO score based on a consumer's TransUnion information. The two FICO scores may differ because of the different reporting that goes on at each of the credit bureaus.

Approximately 90% of businesses and banks use FICO scores as an indicator to credit worthiness. The scores are used to assess risk in a credit applicant's application. Knowing one's FICO score before hand can help prepare a credit applicant for what lending terms to expect. Understanding one's FICO score can help diagnose one's credit health so that it leads to favorable financing opportunities. Common scenarios where FICO scores are looked at are for mortgage and car loan situations.

ScoreWatch is a FICO solution offered to consumers on the website MyFICO.com. It provides users with their Equifax FICO score. Equifax is the oldest and the largest of the three main credit bureau in the U.S. The offer free to try out for 30 days.
