Transunion Settles Class Action Lawsuit - Get Free Credit Monitoring
TransUnion has settled a class action lawsuit alleging they sold their list of consumer data to marketing institutions. This violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Anybody that opened a credit account or line of credit from any lender between the dates of January 1, 1987 to May 28, 2008 is entitled to either one of two types of payments: six months of free credit monitoring service or a cash payment.
If you believe that you might be among these victims, you can go to the website www.listclassaction.com to sign up. It is believed that more than 160 million people may be part of the preliminary lawsuit settlement. Basically it covers anybody who’s applied for a credit card, car loan, mortgage or any other loan during those 20 years.
